Nine's A Current Affair under fire for ignoring Osama bin Laden's death for the Logies

A CURRENT Affair has been criticised heavily after it ran a story about its stars at the Logies ahead of the death of Osama bin Laden.
A Current Affair has refused to comment on its decision to run coverage of the logies last night ahead of the death of the world's most wanted man Osama bin Laden.
Rather than lead with news of the death of the leader of al-Qaeda, the Channel Nine current affairs program went instead with a story entitled "Logies fun and fashion".
While every other news outlet's reporting last night was dominated by bin Laden's downfall, ACA ran a light and frothy Logies report which focussed mainly on Nine's stable of presenters and personalities.
Other stories covered by last night's ACA included the return of Masterchef, a story about Woolworths moving into the hardware industry and a "caught on camera" piece about a family discovering their cleaning lady was allegedly stealing from them.
Bin Laden died on Sunday following a US raid on a compound in Pakistan, however the news was not publicly known until just after midday yesterday, leaving the show ample time to put a news report together.
Twitter erupted in outrage after the show began its broadcast with many questioning why the program, which claims to portray serious news and related issues to its audience, chose to go with the TV awards over one of the biggest news items in recent years.
This included the former host of Nine's Nightline program, Kellie Connolly who was dumped by the network when it axed the program last year.
